Shannen Doherty says Kurt Iswarienko is withholding spousal support (2024)

Shannen Doherty is trying to secure much needed spousal support from estranged husband Kurt Iswarienko as her monthly residual income decreases.

According to a report from People, the 53-year-old former Beverly Hills, 90210actresshas not received requested financial information regarding the 49-year-old photographer's archival work.

Doherty, who is battling stage four brain cancer, believes her ex is intentionally delaying the legal process to avoid paying her.

'It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years,' she stated in filed paperwork.

Iswarienko's attorneyKatherine Heersema fired back, stating that Shannen was offered a settlement deal in October 2023 but denied it.

'Kurt is not "simply wait[ing] for Shannen to die." He wants the best for Shannen and he wants both of them to be able to put this case behind them and move forward,' she said.

In response, Doherty said she denied the proposed settlements because they 'skirted around the issues of his original works created during marriage' and 'his earning capacity.'

In a June 14 filing, the actress requested $15,343 in monthly support 'retroactive to June 1, 2024.'

She has also asked that Kurt contribute $9,100 to her legal fees.

Doherty stated, 'As a result of my recurrent health issues, I have been largely unable to work and have no future employment prospects. Today, virtually all of the income I earn is residual income from work that I performed prior to marriage.'

Per People, Iswarienko’s average annual income from the last three years was $672,916 spendable, leaving 'at least' $56,076 per month in spendable spousal support.

For her part, Doherty's annual average was $259,708, including her work in 2021 and 2022, when she had health insurance.

Shannen says she has made a little more than $25,000 so far this year, showing a significant decrease.

She has also racked up close to $160,000 in legal fees and requested Iswarienko pay $130,000 for future fees.

She said in her filing last week: 'The majority of my residual income is from a television show called Charmed.

'I recently learned that Charmed will no longer be streaming on any major streaming platform after June 30, 2024. As a result, my future residual income will dramatically decrease.' It was also noted that the television star has not worked since 2022.

Shannen believes her ex, to whom she was married from 2011-2023, has the resources to contribute to her medical expenses.

In 2023 the cost totaled $21,640 and she expects it will 'dramatically increase' when she is no longer granted SAG health insurance as a result of not working.

Doherty argued in court paperwork that Kurt has put his lifestyle above all else.

'While I have been unable to work, incurring exorbitant medical expenses not covered by insurance to undergo experimental treatments in hopes of prolonging my life, Kurt has been utilizing the airplane, spending thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci, and on flights for his 'agent,' while simultaneously claiming that he has insufficient funds with which to support me,' she expressed.

The performer has alleged that Iswarienko's agent, Collier Grimm, is also his romantic partner.

'Although Kurt’s income is substantially more than mine, he has not made any temporary spousal support payments and has made no contributions to my attorneys’ or accounting fees and costs since the time our divorce action was filed,' Shannen stated.

It was also noted that Iswarienko has not provided the necessary documents to evaluate his earning capacity, assets and income.

She has subsequently filed a Motion to Compel.

The Hollywood veteran has requested another $11,800 from Iswarienko for the fees she says she's incurred 'in efforts to obtain Kurt’s complete responses.'

Doherty shared in the documents: 'It is abundantly clear to me that Kurt is intentionally delaying settlement in hopes that I will not survive the divorce proceedings.'

First diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, the Charmed alum had a single mastectomy in May 2016. It was followed by chemotherapy treatments and radiotherapy.

By 2017, Doherty announced that her cancer was in remission. But in February 2020, she revealed the cancer had returned in 2019, and that she was in stage four.

Last year, Doherty announced that her cancer had spread to her brain.
