11) Dateline@30: Ransom
On September 4, 2009, a housewife and mother of two called her husband at work and told him she had just been kidnapped out of their $4-million home in an upscale community in Florida. The police deployed a SWAT team to their home, but it was empty. What they found was a ransom note, written on yellow paper in what seemed to be the wife’s handwriting, saying that it was a professional kidnapping job, and that he needed to pay $50,000 to get his wife back.
