3. Dorm Tour 2024 | Lake claire apartments - on-campus housing
This dorm tour was taken at University of Central Florida (UCF) and includes views and discussions around University of Central Florida (UCF) dorms and housing.
So I live in Lake Claire, which is one of the on-campus housing options that you can pick. It is an apartment style which means you don't have to share a room with anyone, there are 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and common room. Every Thursday we have a cleaning lady that comes and cleans the bathrooms, floors, and kitchen, which is super nice. Lake Claire is also like a 5-minute walk to the Nicholson School of Communications, right next to Greek Park, and a 10-15 minute walk to get to the center of campus.

I lived here as a freshman. It is near the center of campus and close to TCH, CB1 and CB2, and the Student Union, which is a plus. I would wake up 30 minutes before my class in CB1 and leave 5 minutes before class started and come right on time. There aren't really any amenities and the buildings are there just for the dorms. They are apartment style 4/2, so you have your own private bedroom with an in-dorm kitchen and have to share a bathroom with 1 other person. The walls are kinda thin (as always) and the rooms are a bit small (as expected). There are 3 floors and NO ELEVATORS. I lived on 3rd floor and it sucked moving in (and was a tad annoying walking every time). Also in my dorm one of the showers (on my side, how lucky) did not get hot at all, only lukewarm. Even after I sent in a work order and the guy said "It gets hot" they did not fix it. Those are my only qualms. All in all, I think it's a great choice for freshmen.

So I’m going to be a freshmen in Fall of 2011. I’ve been to UCF and see all the dorms except for the Lake Claire Apartments. I’ve tried to find people’s opinions on them online and haven’t found much.
Hopefully any current students can give me their opinion on them.
I’ve heard the following already: -Bad because it is hard to socialize.
